Introduction to Handguns (Monthly - Call for Dates)
Ideal for the new gun owner or those interested in learning to shoot, this introductory level course provides the student with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to safely handle, load, fire, and unload common types of pistols and revolvers. Disassembly, assembly and maintenance of some common pistols is also covered. Students can expect to learn about Washington State legislation with reference to firearm purchase, ownership, transfer, and use.
In addition, students get to access Shooting Sports Northwest's eclectic rental program and try out a pre-determined selection of some of the most common handguns, spanning different sizes, calibers, frames, and types. The shooting portion takes place in our traditional paper target lanes, and in our state-of-the-art reactive steel targetry!
Whether your goal is gaining solid knowledge of safe firearm handling or preparing to purchase a handgun, Introduction to Handguns will give you the information you need.
Fees: $175.00 per person (includes firearm rentals, ammunition and eyes/ears protection) Class runs from 10:30am-4:30pm with a break for lunch between the classroom and range portions.
Private Lessons
As classes fill to capacity, or if you would like additional instruction, we offer private lessons with our Range Safety Officers in single hour blocks. These hours are designed as a follow-up to our offered courses, and can serve as a review of course material, or additional training not included in the introductory courses. We strongly encourage you sign up for the introductory courses for the best value and training. Please call us for more information on pricing and available times.
Fees: Single Hour Sessions= $75.00 (includes range fees, and one rental)

All lessons are to be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance. All fees are to be paid at the point of reservation.
